Was UN Secretary General Hammarskjold Murdered For His Attempts To Create A More Peaceful World?

Swedish born Dag Hammarskjold had achieved many impressive accomplishments by the time he was in his early 30's. And in 1953 at the age of 48, he was appointed Secretary General of The United Nations. During his first term Hammarskjold was intent on using the UN to maintain global peace -- not a popular goal with the defense contracting industry or the US Military Industrial Intelligence Complex. So it should come as no surprise that he was quite suddenly and tragically killed in a plane crash during his second term as UN Secretary General .

Many conspiracy theorists have asserted that Hammarskjold was murdered for his attempts to utilize the United Nations to create a sense of global peace. There is certainly a case to be made for this argument. The real issue is who was responsible for his murder? A number of conspiracy theorists have opined that the CIA was involved in Hammarskjold's death, because his notion of a peaceful world threatened the status quo of the defense industry in the United States, which only truly thrives in times of war. Others have claimed it was the Zionist force within Israel who conspired to murder him. Regardless of who was behind his murder (as in the case of all conspiracy there were likely many factions involved).

Dag Hammarskjold was murdered because he saw the Evil which all wars represented -- the pointless torturing or murdering of people; the destruction of the infrastructures within countries; and the exorbitant costs associated with such destruction. Hammarskjold was the polar opposite of those who endorsed the war mentality -- and that is why he was murdered.
