Anyone with a functioning brain understands that the FBI covered up the missile take down of TWA Flight 800.
The question is why?
In all probably the answer lies in a U.S. Navy training exercise off the coast of Long Island, which may have gone terribly wrong, when a missile fired from one of its ships missed a spy drone which the missile was supposed to lock onto and destroy, and instead accidentally destroyed TWA Flight 800.
But why would the FBI obstruct justice by concocting a white wash of the facts, and then use the media to promulgate their lie?
Nineteen Ninety Six was an election year and the Clinton Administration did not want this bad publicity to mar Bill Clinton's reputation and destroy his chances of being reelected.
As terrible as the destruction of TWA Flight 800 was, if it could be blamed on a faulty component, the U.S. Federal Government would not have to take the responsibility for the deaths of 230 people; they could blame a mechanical failure on the manufacturer of some component built into Flight 800.
So the FBI was called in to usurp the authority of the NTSB (which the FBI had no legal right to do), and to then concoct the faulty fuel tank theory, which most Americans to this day do not believe.
The FBI spent about $40 million dollars creating this red herring, instead of admitting to the American people that TWA Flight 800 was accidentally shot down by a Navy cruise missile during a training exercise.
Instead, the FBI chose to lie. And this abject lie took the Clinton Administration and the U.S. Navy off the hook, and placed the blame on the manufacturer of Flight 800's fuel tank, when in all likelihood, there was nothing wrong with this component.
The media immediately disregarded the missile theory, as well as the testimony of more than 700 eyewitnesses (whom the FBI also ignored) who saw a flare leave the ground and head upwards just before a massive explosion could be seen.
From the moment that these witnesses began coming forward to tell the FBI what they saw, the Bureau began to promulgate one of its greatest deceptions of the American people in the history of the FBI.

The $40 million dollar red herring that the American taxpayer was forced to pay for has become the official explanation, and is as much of a lie as the Warren Commission Report regarding the JFK assassination, or the FBI's official explanations for what has happened at WACO, Ruby Ridge, Oklahoma City, the terrorist attacks on the WTC in 1993, and the terrorist attacks on 9-11-2001.
The FBI has lied about everyone of these situations and so have our elected officials.
In fact, the only more creative red herrings that the FBI has come up with other than the one for TWA Flight 800 were the magic bullet theory in the JFK assassination, and the official explanation for why the Twin Towers collapsed as they did.
And of course the controlled media latched onto this propaganda as well, since their job is not to report the news, but instead to report whatever sanitized information the U.S. Intelligence community tells them to promulgate, while completely ignoring any exculpatory information that conflicts with the government's official reports.
Moreover, few if any Americans believe these explanations either; nor do they trust a word that the murderous thugs at the FBI promulgate through the controlled and disinformative media system in this country, which has learned to lie just as well as the FBI, its Intel brethren, and our elected officials; not one of whom will ever admit that the terrorist attacks on 9-11-2001 were a false flag operation which has been used to destroy the United States Bill of Rights.
This is why the Internet and its Blogosphere have become so popular and now threaten the autonomy that the CIA controlled disinformation system in the United States has had since directly after World War II, when the CIA infiltrated the U.S. media under Operation Mockingbird.
As American citizens, this system of government wants to make you a terrorist in your own land (National Defense Authorization Act), to take your right to own a firearm away, to destroy your ability to earn a decent living, to prevent you from using alternative therapies like Vitamin B17 to prevent cancer, and to prevent your media system from reporting any crime that this government is committing against you, while concealing it under the cover of national security.
As previously stated, the FBI has lied about TWA Flight 800, WACO, Ruby Ridge, Pine Ridge, Oklahoma City, the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center and the 9-11 terrorist attacks. The FBI has also seized and likely destroyed evidence that could have been used to prove that 9-11 was in fact a false flag operation.
What are we doing with a government agency that has no legislative charter, lies to us about virtually everything they do, steals legitimate evidence, fabricates new evidence, and then attempts to destroy those of us who challenge the leadership in this organization, when they either cover up or in some instances actually commit crimes which result in the deaths of thousands of our citizens?
The FBI has done all of these things, yet our body politic never holds the FBI accountable for what they do, out of fear that the FBI will destroy their careers.
Sooner or later the American people are going to have to make a decision - either allow the FBI to continue its Gestapo tactics at the expense of our freedom, or abolish the FBI and its Intel brethren, and regain the freedoms that these domestic spies and covert terrorists have stolen from us.
For those naive Americans who still believe that the FBI, the Department Of Justice and the U.S. Attorney Generals office have not become irrevocably corrupted, the following books, Websites and videos should be of interest.
