Dan Rather Defends CBS 60 Minutes Broadcast Regarding George W. Bush's National Guard Record

To those of us who've researched George W. Bush's National Guard record, it came as no surprise when former CBS 60 Minutes news anchor, Dan Rather and his staff, put together a story detailing how Bush had lied about his service record and that Bush's record was "sugar coated" to hide the truth. Bush was also AWOL (absent without leave) for the better part of a year during this time, a subject that the media never broached.

It is therefore heartening to see that Rather has come out publicly and defended the report that he and his staff put together in regard to another series of Bush's lies, even if he did wait until the Democrats captured both the House and Senate before doing so. Whether you like Rather or not, he is one of the few real investigative journalists that this country has had in the past century, and unfraid to take on issues that most so called journalists will not go anywhere near.

He proved that when he put this news piece together. A story that would force him to step down from his 24 year position as a CBS Anchor, and into relative obscurity, being nearly blackballed from the industry he loves.

The following newsbrief details Rather's knowledge of Bush's National Guard record as well as the coverup which took place within the US media to prevent Americans from learning about it.
